New RCMP Staff Sergent

Resident Safety, Cyclists, Speeding and Shooting Big Concerns

A big thank-you to Turner Valley RCMP’s new staff sergeant Dwayne Helgeson for taking the time tonight to listen to the concerns of MD residents in Division's 3 and 4 at the High Country Rural Crime Watch meeting. We are lucky to have you. 

It was great meeting you in person and I look forward to working with you on some needed initiatives in our area.

In Our First 4 Years Together, We Have Accomplished Alot


In our first 4 years together, we have accomplished a lot. Infrastructure, Roads, Highways, Water, Recreation Projects, Communications and much more. Here is a sample of some of what we have achieved in Division 3.

Infrastructure, Roads, Highways and Water
  • Flood Projects 
    • $9.6 million in flood recovery projects in Division 3
  • Road Projects
    • Millarville Road - resurfacing
    • 192 St W (Racetrack Road) - two lifts of chip seal with culvert replacement
  • Highway Projects
    • Highway 549 East - resurfacing
    • Highway 22 - resurfacing
    • Highway 762 - four slide area repairs underway with resurfacing either Fall 2017 or Spring/Summer 2018.  Approximately $11 million invested.

Dr. Phil Langil from the University of Calgary always does a brilliant job of making the complicated world of Astrophysics and bringing to a level that everyone can understand, appreciate and enjoy.

It is a great resource that we have in our MD and we need to do what we can to protect it by keeping our skies dark and following the MD's Dark Sky Bylaw.
