Gate Owners Need To Register With Foothills 911 - HighRiverOnline.com
Security gates are starting to be a popular security feature for people living in rural areas.
However there could be a safety hazard.
In case of an emergency landowners need to register their information about their security gates with the Foothills Regional 911 Dispatch Centre to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
MD of Foothills Councillor Suzanne Oel says it is important, in case of an emergency, that ambulances, police and fire have quick access so they can help.
"All they have to do is email our Foothills Regional 911 centre," said Oel. "They will take the information and attach it to a file that is related to their address.

MD helping racetrack ground road improvement: Foothills: Millarville Ag Society to contribute through grant application
The MD of Foothills is working with an agricultural society to improve the internal road at the Millarville racetrack, one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area.
Foothills councillors voted on Feb. 21 to write a letter of support for the Millarville Agriculture Society for a $25,000 provincial grant to improve the inside roadway at the racetrack and grounds just north of the hamlet.
