MD Foothills Alert System, a new early warning system is launched.

MD Foothills Alert System
HIGH RIVER, AB:  MD Foothills Alert system, a new early warning system is launched. The MD Foothills Alert system  will provide critical and information alerts affecting residents in the MD of Foothills. Residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up to receive developing, significant and time sensitive alerts through their phones, text messages and email. This new system is part of the Municipal Emergency Management Plan.

“Ensuring our residents are informed of critical and timely information that could affect their families, homes, business and land, is a priority for us,” stated Larry Spilak, Reeve. “That is why it is so important to encourage everyone in the MD of Foothills to take a couple of minutes and sign up.”

Residents will be able choose how to receive messages through a variety of options; home phone, work phone, cell phone, emails and text messages. The alert message will be sent out to the resident’s list of preferred contact systematically until it receives notification that the alert has been received.

MD Foothills Alert system is part of a comprehensive emergency management plan to ensure residents have multiple forms of access to information regarding emergencies, warnings and public safety notifications. The MD will also utilize other forms of communication with residents:
